It were better to live one single day in the development of a good
life of meditation than to live a hundred years evilly and with
undisciplined mind. It were better to live one single day in the
pursuit of understanding and meditation than to live a hundred years in
ignorance and unrestraint.
(The Buddha, from the Dhamma-
pada)

WELCOME!
WHO WE ARE
The University of Chicago Buddhist Association is a registered student
organization at the
University of Chicago.
Our members gather during the weeks of the quarter to meditate
together. Our intention is to
provide people a (free) way to learn about meditation and to
incorporate it into their lives and schedules. Occasionally we host
events with
guest speakers as well, and we try to make people aware of other places
where they may receive instruction. Everyone is welcome to join us,
regardless of
prior experience, religious beliefs, or position in the University
community.
MEDITATION SCHEDULE
There are several regularly scheduled meditations on campus and in Hyde Park. Check the Local Resources page or the Current Calendar for details. We also provide some links to Chicago-wide resources.
